When i say unique people, i am referring to the different styles of clothing and the smells that people have. I have seen people with some every inappropriate clothing. Some because of their age and some because the clothes are too revealing or too BLAH.
Another thing that hits me everyday is the smells that these people bring in. Every once in a while there are a few good ones with a nice perfume or cologne, mainly people in teens or twenties. The problem comes when the older ladies or gentlemen where horrendous perfumes or colognes that make me want to pass out. I have also had people that absolutely smelled like dirt. It wasn't like just dirt, it was particles floating in the air that make you want to cough and sneeze.

PDA in a shoe store
Ok, seriously, people really need to get a room instead of coming to a store and portraying PDA. It is very unnecessary and everyone does not want to watch you do it. I have had people walk in and do these things and then other customers won't even go down the same aisles because it is extremely awkward and not something people like to look at. I'll save the images from everyone's mind because if i tried explaining it, it would not be pretty.
All this to say "DON'T DO IT"! It is very unattractive and not appropriate for anyone to do in public. That is something completely private so please keep it that way.

The people i work with
When beginning a new job, you don't know anyone, you think everyone is out to get you, you don't know what to do, say, anything, and somehow you have to learn. When i first started, i had first impressions that proved to be completely different then the truth about a lot of the people that work with me. For instance, the girl that I am closest to now, we even call each other sisters, i thought she was a very distant person that i would barely end up talking to. Now i know she is the craziest person i know, people actually mistake us as sisters because we evidently look alike, and we just love being around each other. There are also others at work that turned out to be the same way, such as my "grandma", which is also my "sister"'s "grandma". This just makes everyday at work fun, its sure that there is never a boring day at my work.

The nice ones
It absolutely makes my day when someone really nice comes in. When i get to talk to someone, and actually get to have some kind of a conversation other than completely about shoes, its kind of nice. When the people that come in are happy, i am happy.
For instance i had one family, they had five kids i believe, and they were the sweetest people ever. I was helping pretty much the entire family find shoes. I got to talk to all of them, laughed, they were extremely nice. I'll say that that was one of the best days at work I've had just because of those people. So it is true that people can make or break someone's day, so please try and smile even when you aren't having the best day.

rude people
Ok, so most days i can walk in and be in a good mood ready to help people with a smile on my face. Normally the best customers are the older people that just need some help finding what they need. However some do not fall in this category. Quite honestly, even though we work in a store, and are here to help you, it does not mean we have to do EVERYTHING for you. I had one woman and her grandchild come in one day (the grandchild was at least 8). Once there was a shoe that she found that she liked, everything went down hill for here.
We did not have the size that she needed, so i asked if there was any other shoes similar that she might like. The grandmother began to fuss about how much cheaper the shoes were elsewhere and telling me to find a similar shoe in her size. I calmly found another shoe, and handed it to her while i took the plastic piece out of the other shoe. Evidently, this was not good enough and i was not adequately trained for my job. There is a lot more to this story, but its long and hard to explain.
There are also many many many other instances where similar experiences have happened and absolutely killed my mood.
I just think that it would be a WHOLE lot easier if people would just be nice, it would make my job easier, and would help with my day.

my obsession
Soo... I've never been interested in shoes. NEVER! i could care less what i had on my feet as long as they kept warm, this was until i started working at a shoe store. Walking around looking at shoes everyday i work, knowing where every shoe in the store is everyday i work, and helping people find the exact shoe they want everyday at work, gets you obsessed. So many shoes to like, so many to love, but yet i cant buy them all.
